Mallnitz

Mallnitz, situated amid the Hohe Tauern National Park, is a small paradise in the mountains. Both active nature lovers and those in search of peace and quiet will find their wishes met here.

Hikers in particular will find undreamed-of opportunities here. The Seebach Valley is regarded as one of the most beautiful high mountain valleys in the Hohe Tauern, where you can walk alongside the River Seebach and past thundering waterfalls to the crystal-clear Lake Stappitzer See, a perfect place to unwind.

The Hannoverhaus mountain lodge at 2,566 metres above sea level is a popular destination for hikers. In 2013 it was refurbished in an ultramodern design and with 64 beds.

More demanding mountain climbers will also find fantastic routes to the 3,000-metre summits high above Mallnitz, where they will be rewarded with a panorama straight from a picture book. The “Alpine Pearl” Mallnitz is also committed to soft mobility. A wide selection of E-Bikes and Segways are available to hire, while the electric Velotaxi will take you “softly” to your destination. The “Alpine Pearls” are a network of 25 exceptional holiday locations with the highest standards of environmentally-friendly, conscious and stress-free recreation.

In winter Mallnitz is a meeting place for winter sports lovers. The Ankogel with its wonderful deep snow slopes has become an insiders’ tip for freeriders, and the longest ski run in Carinthia with guaranteed snow can also be found here, with a difference in altitude of 1,349 metres.

For more than 20 years, Pro Musica Mallnitz has shown how nature and culture can blend together. Classical orchestral concerts and music festivals are available here all year round, and enchant music lovers from far beyond the national borders.
