Region Klopeiner See - Südkärnten
The region on the River Drau cycle path is also ideal for cycling up hill and down dale. Try the new art trail or biking into the mountains through a disused mine on the Slovenian border. All in all, the region has 1,246 kilometres of crossborder cycle paths and mountain bike trails with an incredible 20,000 metres elevation gain for pedalling to your heart’s content.
Round about nature, culture and opportunities for countless other sports create a unique sense of vitality.
At Golfpark Klopeiner See – Südkärnten, you can play from March onwards. In addition, the 18-hole course features a magnificent panorama, sculptures by renowned artists and one of the longest golf seasons in all of Austria.
Nordic walkers, hikers, trekkers and climbers will be spoilt for choice between lakes, nature reserves, wooded hills and the craggy limestone rock of the Karawanken Range. When there are over 800 kilometres of footpaths to choose from, there is little chance of boredom.
They also take you past the highest railway bridge in Central Europe. Those with nerves of steel can go bungee jumping there and enjoy bouncing just above the River Drau 96 metres below.
