This three-dimensional landscape is absolutely amazing: the beauty of pristine nature in the high mountain region with glaciers, mountain lakes and countless peaks, in the middle of it the Grossglockner at 3,798 metres above sea level, creates awesome emotion against the diversity and energy of nature.

Summertime in the national park
This national park is the only place in Austria where you can go stalking on a wildlife safari, quietly and carefully guided by a certified national park ranger: the confident chamois, the enormous ibex, the awesome red deer, the cute marmot, the shy mountain cock and black cock and the ruler of the skies, the golden eagle and the bearded vulture, invite visitors to see their foreign yet near world of 3,000 metre high mountains. Between the evening and morning stalking, experienced hunters can digest their personal impressions together at a rustic chalet with hearty, traditional food and a schnapps.
There’s one admission ticket for this unforgotten world: the Nationalpark Kärnten Card, the key to all regional top services and 100 further worthwhile attractions in Carinthia in more than 80 tourist establishments of the Hohe Tauern National Park Region. The wonders of nature – still available here.
